The TruckSmartTM station measures woods arriving at the mill by using measurement technology based on machine vision and laser technology. When the truck drives to the measuring station, the system calculates the quality and quantity of wood in the carriage without human intervention. This measurement happens in less than a minute. With the help of additional components, it is also determine the wood species and bark content of the load. After the measurement, the load-specific information is recorded in the mill’s wood bookkeeping.

The load is scanned with laser-based machine vision when it arrives at the measuring station. In less than a minute, it calculates the amount of wood mass under the bark of logs, gives its density and moisture value. The information also accompanies the batch in wood yard bookkeeping after it has been transferred to the mill’s system.
