The WoodSmart^TM system utilizes artificial intelligence-driven machine vision for automated control of the wood flow. It allows the wood flow to be kept steady without line interruptions caused by transverse and broken logs. The line automatically identifies possible deviations and adjusts its speed to optimize the wood flow. At the same time, the uniformity of debarking and chipped biomass enables consistent feedstock to be directed to the digester. This reduces the amount of needed raw wood and energy used in the process, which means significant savings in raw material purchases per ton of pulp produced.

WoodSmart’s automatic  optimization system prevents production interruptions and occupational safety hazards in the line. The StoneSmart connected to it helps to identify stones and other foreign objects on the line. This  ensures the condition of the chipper blades and thus the high quality of the chips.
