BasinSmartTM is a mobile wood measurement unit based on machine vision and artificial intelligence. It is easily portable in the field. It helps to measure a bundle quickly in a few seconds, after which the volume and quality data under the bark are transferred to the mill’s wood bookkeeping.<\/p>

BasinSmart measures a bundle brought to the measuring station for scanning in less than a minute. The data is logged in the system. It is immediately readable by the driver. This facilitates the assembly and organization of optimized wood loads in the wood yard. At the same time, the mill’s system generates accurate information on the quantity and location of wood qualities and species. BasinSmart can be easily integrated into any existing system in the mill, or Teknosavo’s own wood bookkeeping software.<\/p>

Homogeneous raw material and high-quality fiber material reduce material losses and energy consumption of the process. It releases the mill from need of immersion tanks or staff for measurement process. QS Measurement system measures a small selected sample (1-2 %) of wood fed to the debarking feed table with laser measuring devices and camera units. Integrated into the production line, QS Measurement creates savings as the need for manual work is significantly reduced. Without slowing the speed of the conveyor, the system measures the wood and sends the data and images to the measurement station for log analysis.<\/p>

QS Measurement informs operator from logs that do not fulfill the size limit or that have technical or quality defects, for example rot.
