TruckSmartTM 1) makes incoming wood measurement more efficient. It 2) ensures that the mill does not pay for raw material other than purchased according to its purchasing guidelines. 3) The accuracy of wood accounting improves and 4) monitoring in accordance with ESG requirements becomes transparent.<\/strong><\/p>

Financial savings and transparency<\/strong><\/p>

The TruckSmartTM station measures woods arriving at the mill by using measurement technology based on machine vision and laser technology. When the truck drives to the measuring station, the system calculates the quality and quantity of wood in the carriage without human intervention. This measurement happens in less than a minute. With the help of additional components, it is also determine the wood species and bark content of the load. After the measurement, the load-specific information is recorded in the mill’s wood bookkeeping.<\/p>

The first TruckSmartTM measuring stations have been in use for several years. The results have been good. Wood measurement costs have been reduced while the time spent on measurement has been reduced. The measurement result, which is obtained in less than a minute, corresponds to the actual delivery.<\/p>

The load is scanned with laser-based machine vision when it arrives at the measuring station. In less than a minute, it calculates the amount of wood mass under the bark of logs, gives its density and moisture value.
